This rest of the Research Website is intended to assist you in performing a research project in Emergency Medicine. This is not a substitute for getting an experienced researcher to help you with the project (or to peer review your project if you already have some research experience). We hope that the information in this site will give you some pointers to make doing a research project and exciting and stimulating part of your work rather than a frustrating burden.
Getting started will help those of you with little research experience get your thoughts together and point out some common pitfalls for you to avoid.
How to run a research project will take you through each stage of an emergency medicine research project, giving advice on what you have to do to make each stage as painless as possible.
The technical guide will give you the details of different research methodologies as applied to emergency medicine and tell you how to manage the project itself.
The section of internet resources and further reading will give you some sources of additional information.
This Research section was developed with generous help from the Anthony Hopkins Memorial Fund and would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and hard work of a large number of Fellows and Members of the College. These pages do not necessarily reflect the official view of the College.
