There is increasing pressure on educational time for doctors working in Emergency Medicine. In addition, the consultant and SAS doctor requirements for continuing professional development mean that the College needs to provide access to educational resources in an efficient and easily accessible way.
Therefore, this area of the website will be increasingly dedicated to providing links to a range of e-learning resources, ranging from the ENLIGHTENme project to excellent locally produced resources from members of the College as well as links to other organisations e-learning resources.
All members are urged to make use of these resources, and to notify us of other sites which are useful to Emergency Medicine doctors for on-line learning.
ENLIGHTENme will utilise resources written by EM doctors for EM doctors, in a variety of different forms. Further information is available at www.enlightenme.org . Material for F2s, trainees and consultant and SAS doctors will be available in January.
Other important sources of on-line education include:
BMJ learning - for BMA members: http://www.bmjlearning.com/planrecord/index.jsp
Doctors Net - www.doctors.net.uk
St Emlyns virtual hospital - www.stemlyns.org.uk
Discussion of the value and developments in web-based learning can be found in the EMJ article by
