Newsletter available for download
The latest newsletter is available to all trainees for download. We hope to be able to send these directly to members in the future, but many trainees have not yet joined the CEM and the work being undertaken to update the membership database is still in progress. We'd encourage you to ensure all trainees have the opportunity to read this document.

EMTA Elections
With the completion of the merger, nominations for the college council members are open until 9th July - this includes the Chair of EMTA (who will be the CEM Council trainee representative).

Nominations for other members of the EMTA executive will be opened after the CEM council elections are complete. Please address any enquiries to president.EMTA@googlemail.com

MMC 2008
The Department of Health has published two letters during Dec 2007, highlighting the changes to the recruitment process and run-through training.

Emergency medicine will be among those specialities "uncoupling" training, and we welcome the increased flexibility this affords trainees.

Core training will now last for three years (CT1-3) - four posts lasting six months each in the Acute Care Common Stem (General Internal Medicine (Acute), Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine), and a further year in Emergency Medicine.

Trainees with then compete again for ST4 training posts.

For advice and support, and to feedback your views, contact the TSC representative or President.
